Pekanbaru, February 21, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), successfully held the Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM) on Friday, February 21, 2025. The competition featured 28 participants divided into two competition divisions: Division 3 (Educational Digital Video) and Division 4 (Educational Digital Poster). Each division was represented by four teams, totaling four teams in the Educational Digital Video (VDP) category and four teams in the Educational Digital Poster (PDP) category.

This competition aimed to encourage students' creativity and innovation in producing educational digital content that aligns with current technological advancements. Each team had previously submitted proposals that were reviewed by the judging panel. On the competition day, participants presented their proposals, explaining their concepts, objectives, and the impact of their digital works. During these sessions, the judges also provided constructive feedback and criticism to help participants refine their ideas and improve their project execution in the next phase.

The LIDM FISIP UNRI 2025 served as a platform for students to develop their digital skills and enhance their competitiveness in the creative and digital education industries. It also provided an opportunity for students to showcase their potential in creating engaging and innovative digital educational content. Additionally, this competition functioned as a coaching program to prepare participants for submitting their work at the university level. As a form of appreciation, the best teams will receive production funding from the faculty to support the further development of their projects.

LIDM FISIP UNRI 2025 featured the best teams from the faculty, with the competition results as follows:

1. Educational Digital Video (VDP) Division: Pakar Bulan Team, Serindit Creative, Garuda Emas, Fada Project (Favorite Team)
2. Educational Digital Poster (PDP) Division: Fougle Team, Horizon, Eco Eater, Equiforce (Favorite Team)

The Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Mr. Saiman, expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm and creativity demonstrated by the participants in this event. He emphasized that LIDM is not just a competition but also part of the faculty’s effort to build a strong digital innovation ecosystem among students.
"We hope this event will be a starting point for students to take digital content development more seriously, ensuring that their work has high educational value. With the faculty's support, we are confident that FISIP UNRI students can compete at the university and national levels," he stated.

Furthermore, he added that the faculty is fully committed to supporting students in developing their digital skills through training, mentoring, and providing the necessary resources for high-quality content production.
"We want students to see this not just as a competition but as an opportunity to learn, grow, and create impactful work," he added.

Beyond being a competition, LIDM FISIP UNRI also serves as an early-stage coaching and selection platform for the best teams to advance to the university level. Participants who demonstrate outstanding quality in their presentations and digital concepts will receive further mentoring to prepare for higher-level competitions. The faculty remains committed to fostering student creativity in producing innovative works that can compete nationally and even internationally.

With the successful execution of LIDM FISIP UNRI 2025, it is hoped that this event will continue in the coming years with even more innovations and student participation from various fields. The faculty also encourages all students to continuously hone their digital skills and prepare for the increasingly competitive job market.
