Pekanbaru Tuesday (04/30/2024) The Communication Science Study Program, FISIP Masters Program held a curriculum review activity, this event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., MA, who gave the opening remarks. The event's MC Hevi Susanti, S.I.Kom., MA, and moderator Dr. Tantri Puspita Yazid, MA, also guided the event, and was attended by the coordinator and lecturers of the Communication Science Study Program/Department and resource person Dr. Muhammad Sulham, S.IP., M.Si. the event which was held from 08.00 until finished and took place at The Zuri Hotel Pekanbaru. Also present was the Head of the Communication Science Masters Coordinator, Dr. Welly Wirman, S.IP., M.Si said that the purpose of this activity was to identify the need for the latest curriculum that is relevant to the needs of industry and society today. This is due to significant changes and developments in the world of communication and media. In this activity, participants are expected to discuss graduate profiles, as well as compulsory and elective courses developed by the Communication Science Study Program.
Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., MA explained the importance of curriculum review in the Communication Science Study Program. He emphasized that the curriculum review needs to be carried out considering the significant changes and developments in the world of communication and media. As is known, the development of information and communication technology is currently experiencing rapid progress which must be supported by the latest and relevant curriculum. Therefore, the main objective of this activity is to provide updates to the curriculum so that it is in line with the needs of society and industry today.
During the activity, the coordinators and lecturers of the Communication Science Study Program/Department also contributed to the curriculum needs, graduate profiles, compulsory and elective courses, and the development of teaching methods and lecture materials. Discussions and questions and answers were also carried out actively between participants and speakers, resulting in an agreement on the curriculum review.
